Martha Marks is a full time potter who has been addicted to clay for 20 years. The influence of spending summers as a youth on the Tennessee river and tromping around in the woods is reflected in her work in the shape of the delicate flower-like rims and the vine handles and tree carvings and also in her glaze color choices. Her work is outstanding! She participates in shows around the southeast and has collectors in several countries. In 2010 she began teaching others to love clay and share her addiction. She currently has a shared studio in Madison, AL, where she teaches daily and sells supplies to other ceramic artists aka addicts.
