About Us

All The Arts For All The People

Welcome to Arts Huntsville, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization aimed at advancing the arts in the Huntsville and Madison County region of Alabama.

Our Mission

Arts Huntsville stimulates and supports community creativity and engagement by advancing the arts, entertainment and culture to enrich quality of life, education, and economic development in the greater Huntsville metropolitan region.

Our vision is Huntsville as the premier mid-sized city for the arts, entertainment, and culture in the Southeastern United States.

Our History

Arts Huntsville was founded as The Arts Council in October 1962 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Originally founded as a membership-based local arts agency, Arts Huntsville terminated its membership fees in 2018 to better support artists and arts organizations.

Today, Arts Huntsville serves and promotes the community’s largest arts organizations such as the Huntsville Museum of Art and Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and smaller groups such as Huntsville Master Chorale, Opera Huntsville, and everything in between.

With a vision to the future, Arts Huntsville continues to refine its existing programs and develop new initiatives to best serve its mission to stimulate and support community creativity and engagement in the arts.
