Arts Huntsville to Unveil Huntsville Mural Map at Walls to Walls Gallery Opening Reception
Huntsville, AL – Arts Huntsville is proud to announce the opening of Walls to Walls: The Canvas Work of Huntsville Mural Artists gallery show and the unveiling of the Huntsville Mural Map on Saturday, August 6th. The gallery show will feature the works of local mural artists Robert Bean, R.F. Daniel, Jahni Moore, Logan Tanner, Christina Wegman and Andy Winn, whose thematically diverse murals can be found around the Huntsville metropolitan region.
The gallery’s opening reception will be held at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment on Saturday, August 6th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the First Floor Connector. The featured artists will collaborate on three paintings LIVE at the event. The finished pieces will be auctioned off in a silent auction, with bidding beginning at the event that evening. The public can continue to bid on the pieces throughout the duration of the exhibit at the Arts Huntsville office in the Von Braun Center. All funds raised will support Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment’s efforts to build an outdoor classroom and artist workspace.
Arts Huntsville will also unveil the first-ever Huntsville Mural Map at the reception. Arts Huntsville commissioned local artist David Nuttall of Artimaps to create the map to lead local residents and visitors to view murals around the Huntsville metropolitan region.
“The Huntsville Mural Walk map offers the community a way to discover and experience some of Huntsville’s most vibrant pieces of public art created by artists here in our community,” said Allison Dillon-Jauken, executive director of Arts Huntsville. “We look forward to adding to this map as artists continue to enrich our local landscape with their work.”
After the opening reception, the gallery show’s works will be on display and for sale in the Arts Huntsville Gallery at the Von Braun Center from Monday, August 8th through October 28th, 2016. You can purchase any of the pieces featured in the show at the Arts Huntsville office or by calling 519-ARTS (2787).
