Ashton is a dynamic artist known for her maximalist approach, which incorporates pattern, color and nature into her work. Inspired by botanicals, birds and insects, nature is a strong motif in her art. Her fanciful style features smooth layers of acrylic paint intricately applied to wood panels with small brushes. Très Chic, her latest body of work celebrates femininity, self-discovery and a bit of whimsy. “Illustrating what joy, confidence and personal growth feels like as a female artist, is a strong proponent in my work. My paintings are a daydreamy visual language” says Huffstetler. Inspired by a childhood surrounded by art education, she attended University of Montevallo and received a BFA in Painting, minor in Art History and a Masters of Art Education. Upon graduation, Ashton taught high school art in Madison County for 4 years before transitioning to a full-time artist in 2022. Ashton explores her love for nature, art history and vintage fashion, infusing her work with vibrant energy, enchanting patterns, and a nostalgic touch. Her paintings now bring color to the walls of homes and businesses across the United States.
