Betsy Stark

I grew up with an artist in the family so I have been surrounded by art since I was a child. Although I have always loved art, I did not think becoming an artist was in my genes.

After raising four children I went back to school to pursue a degree in Interior Design. When working on design projects, I noticed that my emphasis was always on the art. I began playing with different mediums and exploring painting.

When we moved to Decatur, Alabama five years ago, I found inspiration in the colors and textures of the North Alabama landscape. I started painting more; basing my pieces on the surrounding landscape. It was then that I discovered that painting is truly my first love. Since then, others have expressed interest and appreciation in my art and I have sold many pieces. I find great joy in painting and in sharing my art with others.
