Green Pea Press seeks to deepen appreciation and understanding of the printmaking arts by providing residents of the Tennessee Valley educational experiences, access to equipment, and opportunities for exhibition, collaboration and exchange.
Founded in 2011 as the first community printshop in Alabama, Green Pea Press has continued to grow, offering memberships, workshops, demonstrations and field trips, custom printing services, on-site event printing, wholesale and retail items.
Our printmaking studio and retail shop are located in Huntsville, Alabama, on the first floor of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, the largest independent arts center in the nation. Studio 122, our low-toxicity working studio, provides resident and local artists access to equipment in a variety of fine art print media, including block printing, monotype, intaglio, and letterpress. Studio 111, The Pea Pod, offers a broad range of items for sale that are hand-printed in-house by members and employees of Green Pea Press.
In 2015 we opened a second location to expand our screen printing facilities at 2720 Governors Drive, just a few blocks up the street from our original location. This is where we conduct our custom screen printing production Monday through Friday, as well as screen printing workshops in the evenings or on weekends.
