Anna Rose Castellanos is a mixed-media artist exploring the intersection of art and community.
Castellanos’ hometown of Chicago has informed the way she thinks about using art to activate public space by addressing issues of equity, access, and representation. Her unique style blends abstract expressionism with gestural renderings symbolizing womanhood, lineage, and matriarchy.
Anna Rose studied for one year at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before living abroad in Nicaragua, then Spain. She earned her degree in Spanish and International Studies at Saint Louis University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Regional and Community Planning at Alabama A&M University.
Castellanos opened Rosebud Studio in the historic Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment’s studio 302 in 2022.
