Request for Qualifications: 19th Amendment Mural Project
Arts Huntsville, in partnership with the Women’s Economic Development Council and other community organizations, invites artists living in the southeastern United States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia) to submit qualifications for a site-specific mural in Huntsville, Alabama marking the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote.
The project partners seek a dynamic mural design that: honors the anniversary of the 19th amendment in Alabama, celebrates the diverse fabric of our community, inspires future civic engagement by all citizens, and encourage interaction and social media sharing. Priority will be giving to women artists (women identifying as women). The 19th Amendment Mural Project has a total artist award of $10,000 to include design and installation of artwork.
Qualifications are due May 10, 2020.
