The Moon – the City of Huntsville’s Sandra Moon Community Complex – is the site of the former Grissom High School, which is already home to the new South Huntsville Library and beautiful outdoor recreation facilities.
In fall of 2023, Arts Huntsville will assume management of The Moon’s renovated performing arts wing, with office and rehearsal facilities for Huntsville’s nonprofit performing arts groups.
The Moon will offer Huntsville’s performing arts groups a collaborative home with offices for six or more nonprofit organizations. Offices range in size from 130 sf to 600 sf and include shared breakroom and meeting areas. Resident companies will also have first access to The Moon’s choral and instrumental rehearsal facilities for year-round rehearsals.

There are currently six office spaces available for rent at the Moon complex. Tenants will be required to sign a lease, adhere to certain insurance requirements. Offices will rent for $16 per square foot annual rental rate (unless otherwise stated).
Office 1a/b: 645 sf, $10,320 annual rent
Office 2a/b: 590 sf, $9,440 annual rent
Office 3: 137 sf, $2,192 annual rent
Office 4: 137 sf, $2,192 annual rent
Office 5: 217 sf, $3,472 annual rent
Office 6: 217 sf, $3,472 annual rent
Instrument Storage 1: 280 sf, $4,480 annual rent
Instrument Storage 2: 140 sf, $2,240 annual rent
Instrument Storage 3: 140 sf, $2,240 annual rent
Office spaces may include a weekly rehearsal period in either the facility’s choral or instrumental rehearsal space. Rehearsal space is subject to availability and priority is given to office tenants with regularly scheduled, year-round rehearsal requirements.
Insurance Requirements:
All users of The Moon Performing Arts Center will be required to meet City of Huntsville insurance requirements naming the City of Huntsville and Arts Huntsville as additional insureds.

Lease Restrictions:
Lessees of The Moon Performing Arts Center office and/or rehearsal facilities are not permitted to assign any of their rights or obligations of their lease, without the express written consent of Arts Huntsville.
Rehearsal space is subject to availability, and priority is given to the office tenants with regularly scheduled rehearsals. Rehearsal space may be rented, based on availability, at a rate of $30/hr.
